State Privacy Rights

Comprehensive US state privacy laws apply to some of our readers — California’s CCPA/CPRA and equivalents in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah and further states. This notice supplements the Privacy Policy for them.
Personal Information Categories
The categories that apply here are identifiers (IP address, cookie and device identifiers), internet or network activity (pages viewed on velvetchalk.com, referring pages, timestamps), and, only where you have provided it, contact information such as an email address. Sources are your own device and any analytics or advertising partner in use.
Your Rights
The rights are: access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out of sale/sharing and targeted advertising, plus in some states a right of appeal where a request is refused. Nobody is penalised for using them; you will not be charged differently or given a lesser version of the site.
Data Sharing
There is no monetary sale of personal information. Where advertising is displayed, though, identifiers may be made available to ad partners, which under CCPA/CPRA and comparable state laws may count as a ‘sale’ or as ‘sharing’ for cross-context behavioural advertising. To opt out, see Do Not Sell or Share My Information. Data of under-16s is not knowingly sold or shared.
How to Submit a Request
Two routes. For an opt-out: turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we honour automatically. For anything else — access, correction, deletion, portability — email hello@velvetchalk.com. Verification is by reply to the originating address, responses come within the time state law sets, and an authorised agent may submit on your behalf with written permission.
